Tax Manager, International Tax Controller

About the Role

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our Tax Controllership team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in transforming the way we manage tax controllership at Amazon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Tax Controllership Innovation: Analyze controllership teams' needs and design new controllership tools and processes across various tax domains.
  • Develop Tax Technology Solutions: Identify and articulate technology needs and construct tax technology solutions.
  • Contribute to Global Strategy: Think big and contribute to the long-term global strategy.
  • Deliver Results: Demonstrate a strong bias for action and deliver results, driving solutions over the line.
  • Communicate Effectively: Thrive in highly complex distributed system environments and communicate effectively to convey your vision of solutions.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work alongside members of the controllership teams and partner with other technology teams.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level.
  • Background: Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise: 3+ years of maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g. Vertex) experience.
  • Programming Skills: Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or other database language.
