Job Summary

This position provides administrative support to the facility's records department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, performing data entry, and assisting with the release process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for detainees, including demographic information, medical records, and incident reports.
  • Perform data entry and maintenance of computer files, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collect and review all pertinent documents associated with the legal transfer of detainees, ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Develop and submit required reports relative to the facility's detainee file system, as well as other reports as required.
  • Audit the detainee file pursuant to facility policy, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
  • Prepare detainee files for release, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Assist in the detainee release process, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.
  • Maintain facility security, particularly in areas of responsibility, and promptly report any violations or security hazards to appropriate supervisory staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience in office procedures and related clerical duties.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group settings.
  • Ability to work with a team of inmates and implement team strategy approaches to work assignments.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
