Position Overview

Econolite Group, Inc. is a leader in Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) solutions, dedicated to enhancing public safety and advancing smart city initiatives. We are seeking a skilled individual to fill the role of Accounting Staff II, who will play a crucial part in our financial operations.

The Accounting Staff II will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and will be engaged in various aspects of accounts receivable management. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with sales tax regulations, managing annual report submissions, and overseeing business license processes. The successful candidate will also handle bank activity reporting, fixed asset management, and vehicle lease documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with external service providers to manage sales tax return submissions and resolve billing inquiries. Conduct monthly reconciliations of the accrued sales tax general ledger account.
  • Monitor daily banking activities and update the cash flow reports on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in preparing month-end journal entries and managing cash flow.
  • Facilitate wire transfers and ACH payments within the banking system; manage accounts payable disbursements and Positive Pay functions in Microsoft D365.
  • Process business license applications and renewals across various jurisdictions.
  • Oversee fixed asset activities, including requisition processing, budget tracking, and recording disposals in Microsoft D365; maintain fixed asset rollforward schedules.
  • Manage vehicle lease and registration documentation; review and code vehicle lease invoices for accounts payable.
  • Provide cross-training for Accounting Staff I to ensure coverage during absences.
  • Learn and support the daily functions of the Accounts Receivable Specialist as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks such as preparing schedules for annual audits and other miscellaneous duties.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting.
  • Proficient in processing high volumes of transactions with a focus on accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity.
  • A collaborative team player capable of working across various finance and operational teams.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems is essential.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • Relevant accounting certifications or continuing education, particularly in accounts receivable.
  • Familiarity with lien requirements and associated processes.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business processes and diverse work demands.

Compensation:

The compensation for this full-time non-exempt position is competitive, with a base pay rate of $28.84 per hour, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation is influenced by various factors, including role, experience, and geographic location.
