The Accounting Staff II will play a crucial role in managing various accounts receivable functions and will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager. This position encompasses responsibilities such as sales tax submissions, annual report preparations, business license management, bank activity tracking, fixed asset oversight, and vehicle lease administration. The role will also evolve to include month-end closing entries, support for daily accounts receivable tasks, and involvement in special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with external service providers on sales tax return submissions and annual report preparations, addressing any billing discrepancies.
  • Monitor daily banking activities and update cash flow documentation on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in month-end journal entries and cash management activities.
  • Facilitate wire and ACH transactions within the banking system; manage accounts payable ACH disbursements and Positive Pay processes in Microsoft D365.
  • Complete and renew business license applications across various jurisdictions.
  • Oversee fixed asset management, including requisition processing, tracking against budget, asset acquisition, and disposal recording in Microsoft D365.
  • Maintain vehicle lease and registration documentation; review and code vehicle lease invoices for accounts payable.
  • Provide cross-training for Accounting Staff I to ensure coverage during absences.
  • Learn and assist with the daily responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist as needed.
  • Undertake additional tasks such as preparing schedules for annual audits and other miscellaneous duties.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of transactions while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to integrity.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work across finance and operational teams.
  • Proficient in Excel and experienced with ERP systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant accounting certifications or continuing education, particularly in accounts receivable.
  • Familiarity with lien requirements and associated processes.
  • Adaptability to changing business processes and varying workload demands.

Compensation:

The compensation for this full-time non-exempt position is competitive, with a base pay rate starting at $28.84 per hour, in addition to benefits. Pay rates are influenced by various factors, including role, experience, and location.
