Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist III to join our team at Dean's Professional Services. As a Phlebotomist III, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and preparing those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood samples from patients for medical testing or donation.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient blood collection procedures.
  • Label and store blood samples to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Verify patient information before drawing blood.
  • Assemble and maintain equipment such as needles, test tubes, and blood vials.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and initials, including patient signature post-venipuncture.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Phlebotomy Certification required.
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
  • Excellent people skills with patience and nurturing required.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record required if applicable.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Superior customer focus, ability to communicate openly and transparently, and ability to accelerate and embrace change required.
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.

Benefits:

  • Float Position - Floaters travel between multiple sites and are expected to be on time at whatever site they are covering for that day.
  • Schedule: Shifts may vary.
  • Starting at $20/hr. (Based on experience).
