About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychotherapist to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a key member of our mental health team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Psychotherapy Services: You will work closely with patients to identify and address their mental health needs, providing individualized therapy sessions to promote emotional well-being and improve quality of life.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for our patients.
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: You will work with patients to develop and implement personalized treatment plans, taking into account their unique needs and goals.
  • Conduct Assessments and Evaluations: You will conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patients' mental health needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide Education and Support: You will provide education and support to patients and their families, helping them to understand their mental health conditions and develop coping strategies.
Requirements
  • Doctoral Degree in Psychology: You must hold a doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure and Certification: You must be licensed to practice psychology in the state where the position is located and hold certification from a recognized professional organization.
  • Experience in Mental Health: You must have significant experience working in mental health settings, with a strong understanding of psychotherapeutic techniques and principles.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
