Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the outpatient pharmacy team, ensuring the effective management of resources and personnel.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing and patient care.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including JCAHO standards, to maintain the highest level of patient care and safety.
- Staff Development: Identify and address the continuing education and training needs of pharmacy staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
- Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Education: Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
- Licensure: Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
- Experience: At least one (1) year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or equivalent, which is directly related to the Pharmacy Supervisor (Outpatient) position.
- PGY1 Pharmacy Residency/PGY2 Health Systems Pharmacy Administration and Leadership or Outpatient Pharmacy Managerial/Supervisory experience.
This position is in the Excepted Service and does not confer competitive status. The Department of Veterans Affairs performs pre-employment reference checks as an assessment method used in the hiring process to verify information provided by a candidate.
