Role Summary:

This entry-level clinical role focuses on providing support in the addiction treatment sector. The specialist will create a therapeutic atmosphere for clients in the young adult unit by facilitating group sessions, transporting clients to external meetings, assisting with relapse prevention strategies, and equipping clients with essential life skills to aid in their recovery journey. This position serves as an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the substance abuse domain and pursue further education by obtaining the Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) certification.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of experience in addiction treatment or a comparable mix of education, training, and experience.
  • Proficient in behavioral management techniques.
  • Capable of coordinating and delivering educational sessions for clients, families, and community partners.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Certified Addictions Counselor or eligible for certification within 24 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to work hours as designated by the Supervisor, including any additional hours necessary for assigned responsibilities.
  • Act as a role model for colleagues, clients, and stakeholders, demonstrating positive interpersonal relations while representing Rosecrance.
  • Oversee and manage client behavior, implementing appropriate interventions and consequences.
  • Organize and supervise recreational activities for patients.
  • Monitor assigned clients by collaborating with the primary counselor to develop and execute individual treatment plans, scheduling sessions to support clients with their recovery goals.
  • Ensure patient service records comply with required regulations.
  • Develop and present educational lectures as outlined in the client lecture schedule.
  • Observe and document group dynamics.
  • Facilitate focused group discussions.
  • Consult with treatment team members to plan daily therapeutic strategies for the assigned shift.
  • Review logs and gather relevant information from previous shifts, counselors, and educators.

Work Schedule:

Friday to Tuesday, 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: Based on education, experience, and credentials

  • Starting pay for High School/GED - $18.43/hr.
  • Starting pay for Associate's degree - $19.37/hr.
  • Starting pay for Bachelor's degree - $20.25/hr.
  • Additional $0.50/hr. with CADC certification.

Shift Differentials: Additional compensation based on scheduled shift hours

  • Second shift (majority of hours between 3 PM and 11 PM): $0.25/hr.
  • Third shift (majority of hours between 10 PM and 7 AM): $0.50/hr.
