Senior Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our Intelligent Combat Platforms Group, you will play a critical role in developing cutting-edge technologies that will shape the future of warfare.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop advanced autonomous systems and artificial intelligence algorithms
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and software developers to deliver powerful capabilities to the warfighter
- Contribute to the development of machine learning models and their deployment in real-world scenarios
- Work on collaborative teams in areas such as intelligent control and decision-making, human-machine collaboration, and networked and teamed systems
- PhD in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
- Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python, with knowledge of software design patterns
- Ability to obtain an interim Secret security clearance by start date, and ultimately a Secret clearance
- Experience working with autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and machine learning
- Proficiency in additional programming languages, cloud computing, and configuration management
- Completed certifications or internships in relevant fields
