About the Role

As a Benefits Technician, you will be responsible for coordinating and administering mandated leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and preparing forms and documents related to protected leaves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and administering Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and California Family Rights Act (CFRA)
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding leave management
  • Preparing forms, documents, and correspondence related to protected leaves
  • Maintaining thorough and confidential records, logs, and databases for protected leaves
  • Facilitating timely and accurate communication and information to departments and employees regarding leave policies and procedures
  • Certifying FMLA/CFRA eligibility for employees requesting protected leave under FMLA/CFRA
  • Working closely with the Disability Coordinator on leaves extending beyond FMLA/CFRA and processing all correspondence letters and notices related to accommodations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a deep understanding of federal, state, and local laws related to protected leaves and disability accommodations. You will also need to be an adaptable individual who can quickly grasp the nuances of managing protected leaves and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
