Job Overview

Position Summary

The Construction Project Coordinator is responsible for managing the development of asphalt and concrete parking facilities across various regions. This role involves cultivating strong relationships with clients and guiding project teams and subcontractors to fulfill the vision of the project owner. The coordinator will oversee all aspects of the project from initiation to completion, which encompasses pre-construction meetings, project launches, daily oversight of subcontractors, resource and timeline management, project documentation, punch lists, and change order management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily project management of industrial and commercial ventures in Heavy Civil Construction from start to finish.
  • Validate cost estimates and collaborate with estimators for seamless project transitions.
  • Analyze bid documents, perform quantity take-offs, and establish production rates in conjunction with management and estimating teams.
  • Maintain daily records of project quantities and monitor job expenditures.
  • Champion safety protocols and actively address safety concerns on-site.
  • Collaborate closely with superintendents and supervisors to create and monitor project timelines, assess change order work, and coordinate subcontractor activities.
  • Assist with estimating tasks as required, utilizing HCSS (Bid/Job) and various take-off software.
  • Forecast and evaluate self-performed labor, equipment, and materials, adjusting plans to enhance project profitability.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify key performance indicators and their impact on overall project success.
  • Work primarily in a field environment while also attending regular office meetings for project-related functions.
  • Coordinate with management teams and production crews to uphold quality control standards, ensuring the delivery of superior services to clients.
  • Address and resolve project-related issues, liaising with city, county, and state engineers, craft unions, and subcontractors.
  • Educate and enforce company policies, procedures, quality standards, and labor agreements as necessary for projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience managing projects through their entire lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and resourcefulness.
  • Proven track record of completing projects within defined scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Ability to visualize work sequences and translate them into measurable plans and schedules.
  • Willingness to travel as required throughout the project duration.
