We are currently seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to join our team in the Newport News, Virginia area, bringing expertise in commercial construction.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and all project team members to ensure effective project management and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion the implementation of W. M. Jordan's Safety and Health Management Program.
- Work in conjunction with the Project Manager and Superintendent to uphold company protocols and enhance project operations.
- Oversee and streamline the submittal processes, including log development and processing.
- Facilitate project coordination among all trade partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate material delivery schedules with the superintendent and relevant stakeholders.
- Initiate, investigate, and monitor Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Address inquiries from subcontractors and suppliers regarding shop drawings and contract specifications.
- Manage various document control systems, including submittal logs, procurement logs, and contract documents.
- Support Lean processes applied to projects.
- Participate in and/or lead jobsite progress meetings, ensuring accurate documentation of minutes.
- Organize and oversee project closure tasks, including Operations and Maintenance Manuals, Owner Training, Attic Stock, and Warranties.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the project schedule as directed by the project manager.
- Contribute to proposal management efforts through research and follow-up as assigned.
- Engage in training sessions and company meetings to foster personal and organizational growth.
- Build industry relationships and expand your professional network.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Project Coordinator in commercial construction.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or two years of relevant commercial construction experience is highly preferred.
- OSHA training is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and architectural drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, and various scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Phoenix).
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a plus.
- Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Active engagement in a collaborative team environment.
