Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist III to join our team at Hampton City Schools. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will provide critical support to the Chief Academic Officer and other department leaders.

Responsibilities:

* Provide clerical and accounting support to the Chief Academic department, including maintaining financial records and following up on work in progress.
* Plan, initiate, and carry out clerical and administrative support activities, ensuring timely response or action.
* Format and type confidential and general correspondence, reports, and statistical data, and prepare reports of financial and statistical data.
* Compile data for reports, gather and interpret information from appropriate sources, and prepare information and presentation packets for use by a supervisor or coordinator.
* Submit requisitions as required, issue purchase orders to vendors, and track spending based on approved purchase orders.
* Monitor purchases and coordinate submission of invoices and/or material receipts to Finance to ensure timely payments to vendors.
* Enter budget transfers and monitor available funds.

Requirements:

* Associate's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
* Proficiency in Munis or other financial management software, preferred.
* Knowledge of federal program requirements pertaining to Title I, II, IV, and 21st Century programs, preferred.
