Job Summary

GE Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Technician Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our service delivery team, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and repairing basic biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate customer biomedical equipment issues, implement repairs, and perform planned maintenance (PM) under supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
  • Assist more experienced technicians on progressive repairs and resolution, working as a member of a local team to provide efficient service delivery.
  • Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule, maintaining approved parts inventory.
  • Ensure proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, and enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures.
Requirements
  • AS, BS, MS degree, military education, certificate program, or current student with less than 12 months from completion (with a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher based on a 4.0 scale) OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 months experience servicing electronic, IT, or mechanical equipment.
  • Previous experience and/or course work in interpreting schematic diagrams and performing troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience interpreting schematic diagrams and performing effective repair and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good customer relations.
  • Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy-to-understand manner.
