Position Summary

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Aquatic Center Supervisor - Part Time Temporary at the Dulles South Recreation and Community Center. This facility includes a competitive swimming pool as well as a leisure pool equipped with a water slide, children's play area, and hot tub.


  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, and oversight of lifeguard personnel.
  • Maintain documentation of aquatics staff certifications and facilitate orientation for new aquatics employees.
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic aquatic environment, adjust pool configurations for various activities and events, and support special events.
  • Monitor and enforce pool regulations and safety protocols.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including the use of scheduling software, and maintain necessary records for the aquatic facility.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service.

The work schedule is adaptable and may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.


This position qualifies for a $1,000.00 hiring bonus as part of the County's Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma along with at least one (1) year of experience in aquatics, including programming and facility management, as well as experience working with the public and various groups.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least one year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Certifications such as Lifeguarding Instructor, AED, and Supplemental Oxygen are advantageous.
  • Water Safety Instructor certification and membership in relevant professional organizations are also preferred.
Job Requirements
  • Successful completion of criminal background and credit checks is required.
  • Must possess Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, including First Aid and CPR, as well as a Loudoun County Pool Operator's License prior to commencing work.
