OVERVIEW & POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in the success of Wayfair by motivating customers to embrace our unique style for joyful living.

You will help cultivate a culture that emphasizes an unwavering customer focus to achieve all financial objectives.

As a mentor, educator, and coach, you will devise innovative strategies to inspire your team to deliver exceptional performance consistently.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver a genuine, welcoming customer experience that reflects our commitment to outstanding service.

Work closely with the Store Manager to define and communicate essential metrics, expectations, and key elements to enhance team engagement, sales, design, and superior customer service.

Guide, develop, and oversee all facets of performance, growth, safety, and recognition for the team to ensure ongoing development and create a pipeline of talent.

Enhance the Design team's expertise in our products, sales techniques, service standards, operations, and other critical aspects of their roles; Provide guidance and support regarding their assigned responsibilities.

Manage both virtual and in-store design consultations (including preparation of design deliverables, product selection, and follow-up) to stimulate growth and additional sales.

Maintain a strong leadership presence by effectively managing the sales floor, driving revenue, scheduling the right personnel, and ensuring the Manager on Duty is present throughout the day.

Foster and maintain a culture that promotes a respectful work environment where individual differences are valued and appreciated.

Model and ensure all policies and procedures are communicated clearly, upheld, and consistently adhered to.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of leadership experience in motivating a team to achieve sales targets.

Experience in establishing and maintaining a client base and design program.

Client-focused mindset and strong business acumen.

Preferred experience in interior design, furniture, or home goods.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Proven capacity to motivate, influence, and inspire both yourself and others.

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings any day of the week.

Employment in this role will be contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee must frequently handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee may occasionally sit; regularly climb or balance; and frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly, frequently, or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
