Position Overview

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is a distinguished consulting firm recognized for its commitment to people and excellence. We provide a comprehensive range of services, including civil and geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, planning, landscape architecture, agriculture, surveying, and construction support. Our dedicated team of over 450 professionals delivers integrated solutions in planning, design, engineering, and construction.

We are currently seeking an Environmental Engineer to support our operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate innovative thinking and the capability to propose novel ideas and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects and technical tasks, including remedial investigations, feasibility studies, due diligence, and environmental risk management.
  • Provide office and field support for environmental site assessment projects, encompassing the collection of soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, pore water, and soil gas samples.
  • Oversee the design, bid specifications, construction, operation, and maintenance of environmental remediation projects.
  • Lead data collection efforts and manage environmental permitting processes.
  • Synthesize data, conduct evaluations, and prepare technical reports.
  • Engage in business development, proposal preparation, and networking activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Michigan and Federal Environmental Regulations (Air, Water, Soil, Waste).
  • Understanding of audit inspection procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and HAZWOPER certification.
  • Certification as an Industrial Storm Water Operator is advantageous.
