Overview:

The Timken Company invites you to be part of a team that shapes the future of industrial motion. As a Prototype Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the prototype department's objectives, contributing to the production of innovative products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct gauging setups and operations across various areas, including prototype inspection, machining (CNC & Manual lathes, CNC & Manual mills, CNC Wire cutting), grinding, and forming (stamping).
  • Design, modify, or construct components or tooling based on blueprints as part of project initiatives.
  • Perform specific tests, inspections, and analyses on projects, maintaining accurate records and reporting data as required.
  • Make independent decisions to fulfill job responsibilities, often guided by supervision or engineering directives.
  • Collaborate as part of a team under leadership to achieve on-time delivery goals and meet customer demands.
  • Assist in training new employees on relevant processes and operations.
  • Engage in current quality systems, calibration, and audits.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical trade, or an Associate Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred completion of an apprenticeship or certification in a technical training program related to mechanical trades.
