Position Summary:

The Project Engineer will oversee and support local engineering initiatives as directed by the Vice President of Operations. This role involves providing on-site assistance and collaborating closely with local project contacts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare project approval requests for capital expenditures in alignment with company investment protocols.
  • Assist in establishing key objectives for various projects.
  • Create comprehensive project plans and timelines that align with project goals and objectives.
  • Identify unique project requirements and formulate a testing strategy to ensure compliance.
  • Review contractor proposals and select suppliers based on project needs.
  • Manage project expenses in accordance with the established budget.
  • Coordinate and supervise the technical components of projects.
  • Maintain precise and accessible records of project-related details.
  • Develop operational procedures for the maintenance and upkeep of newly installed equipment, while also supporting training initiatives for production and maintenance staff as necessary.
  • Generate reports and updates for management and stakeholders regarding project budgets, contractor activities, and progress in relation to the project timeline.
  • Collaborate with EH&S experts to ensure that project activities adhere to company policies and regulatory standards, including obtaining necessary permits for project execution.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting with formal project management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead projects effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project implementation and startup.
  • Familiarity with AUTOCAD or similar design software.
  • Knowledge of electrical and control systems is advantageous.
  • Experience with extrusion processes is a plus.
