Your New Role Awaits
The GTS sector within Kleinfelder is seeking talented Electrical Engineers to enhance our team.

In this role, you will work under guidance while having the freedom to make independent decisions, performing significant engineering tasks related to the design or analysis of various projects.

Your responsibilities may include conducting asset assessments, electrical design, cost estimation, field measurements, and preparing technical documentation for both overhead and underground electric power transmission and distribution initiatives.

Qualifications Required
To be considered for this Engineer position, candidates should possess the following:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 4 years of relevant experience
- Understanding of electric distribution systems, including layout, conductor sizing, transformer selection, and meter selection
- Familiarity with instrumentation and controls design for automation (Preferred)
- Knowledge of utility operations (Preferred)
- Engineer-In-Training Certification (Required)
- Professional Engineer License (Required or in the process of obtaining)
- Proficiency in CAD and GIS software (Desired)
- Awareness of the National Electric Code (NED) and electrical power systems (Desired)
- Strong technical communication skills
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
As a Kleinfelder Engineer, you will be expected to:
  • Review designs and documentation to ensure adherence to codes, standards, and design criteria.
  • Prepare designs, calculations, schematics, and layouts based on field inspections and specifications.
  • Develop strategies for data integrity, including processes for data capture and validation.
  • Conduct asset investigations and compile necessary information.
  • Analyze data using standard quantitative methods.
  • Prepare construction specifications and bid packages.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members on Electrical Engineering methodologies.
  • Generate status reports detailing task completion, progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on design and value engineering input.
  • Utilize cost and performance insights to guide early-stage design decisions.
  • Execute detailed engineering designs for low voltage distribution, high voltage transmission, and PV solar systems.
  • Perform calculations related to electric loads, pole loading, voltage drop, and other critical metrics.
