Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough visual and physical assessments of aircraft fuselage structures to ensure compliance with engineering specifications using a range of precision measurement tools and inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, flashlights, depth gauges, digital microscopes, and other instruments.


Oversee the inspection of products in alignment with technical drawings, operational instructions, quality acceptance standards, and the maintenance of acceptance documentation and records.

Inspect internally manufactured components during the final production phases.

Perform composite inspections, which encompass location verification, gap assessments, and edge sealing.

Identify, document, and accurately report nonconforming products upon discovery in accordance with established procedures.

Visually and physically evaluate rework and repairs for adherence to engineering specifications.

Guide technicians on nonconforming materials/products identified during inspections, covering engineering requirements, identification of nonconformance, and process enhancements.

Foster and maintain a collaborative team environment with fellow inspectors and support teams.

Work effectively both as part of a team and independently to enhance quality, efficiency, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness through process improvements and quality control methodologies.

Must successfully complete all job-specific or specialized certification and qualification programs required for core tasks or specialized roles.

Tasks may be executed in either a team setting or independently. Must be capable of working without supervision.

Basic Qualifications:


A High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required (educational background will be verified) along with a minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing and/or quality inspection.

Technical proficiency in composite processing, operations, and inspection is essential.


Must be adept at utilizing standard measuring and inspection tools/equipment and possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and operational procedures.


This role necessitates the capacity to perform moderately strenuous physical and repetitive tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to work with composites, epoxies, and sealants for extended periods.

Flexibility to work varying shift schedules is required.

Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.

Preferred Qualifications:
1-2+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or quality inspection of composite structures.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Experience with the MRB process is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications and computer skills is advantageous.

Salary Range:
$42,000 - $70,000


The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company outcomes. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
