The Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services is seeking a skilled Therapist to join our Refugee Program team. As a Therapist, you will work under general supervision to provide intensive therapy to individuals, groups, or families, addressing complex social problems and treatment plans. Your expertise will be essential in determining appropriate methods of treatment and providing referrals to community services or financial assistance.
Key Responsibilities- Screen, assess, diagnose, and create treatment plans for clients, including observation and psychological testing.
- Provide interpretation of assessment and diagnosis, ensuring understanding of treatment plans, including medical records as needed.
- Formulate measurable goals and objectives in accordance with client needs.
- Participate in treatment team conferences, including other professionals, family members, and referral sources.
- Research and locate available help outlets based on identified client needs, including in-house and external referrals.
- Coordinate services and participate in interdisciplinary teams.
- Follow up on services referred to clients, ensuring participation and program compliance, including reviews in clients' homes or other locations.
- Review, discuss, and determine progress towards goals, formulating new goals as needed.
- Document all services in compliance with the agency's quality assurance plan.
- Report on program progress at required intervals per funding guidelines.
- Maintain agency confidentiality and client privacy in accordance with agency policies and procedures (42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA).
- Maintain currency in areas of psychosocial rehabilitation and therapeutic intervention techniques.
- Follow funding sources' requirements and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards applicable to services provided.
- Conduct group therapy sessions as needed.
- Sign off on patient charts, if fully licensed.
- Supervise interns, if fully licensed.
- Conduct psychological testing and substance abuse counseling as appropriate, based on qualifications and assigned functional area.
- Translate and interpret information for non-English speaking clients, as needed.
- Lead the work of others, including coaching and mentoring paraprofessionals, clerical staff, and interns.
- Ensure clients in SUD programming receive necessary clinical care to progress in completion of treatment goals.
- Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a mental health setting as a Full Licensed Master Social Worker, Full Licensed Professional Counselor, Full Licensed Psychologist, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
- Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Limited License Professional Counselor (LLPC), Limited License Master Social Worker (LLMSW), Limited License Psychologist (LLP), CAFAS certified if position is responsible for child therapy, MCBAP Certified Addiction Counselor or Certified Advance Addiction and Drug Counselor may be required based on assigned functional area or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Normal business hours, with some additional hours required. Local travel up to 10%. Climate-controlled office environment.
