Job Title: Budget/Financial Analyst
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Budget/Financial Analyst to join our team at The Michelle Martin Group. As a Budget/Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in evaluating and solving business challenges, specifically in support of the Department of Homeland Security's law enforcement mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial data and generate reports to assist senior executives in making informed decisions.
- Develop analytical methods and tools to evaluate and integrate data from various sources to assess and recommend solutions to assigned problems.
- Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports on progress, performance, and outcomes to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Monitor organizational spending to ensure it is within budget.
- Prepare financial reports, internal management reports, and external regulatory reports.
- Identify areas for performance improvements and more efficient business practices.
- Provide monthly status reports of collections, costs, and anticipated carryover balances.
- Conduct reconciliations of accounts and analyze data to ensure accurate billing.
- Monitor disbursements and research problems to identify issues and recommend corrections.
- Research complex accounting issues and errors to find solutions.
- Generate ad-hoc reports for senior leadership summarizing budgetary status.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years' experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum of four years of proven experience as a consultant or support contractor.
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business, or another relevant field.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and for our client understanding their needs.
- Be a U.S. citizen able to pass a background investigation by the client agency.
