Position Overview

7th/8th Grade ELA Instructor

Institution: Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of New York


The Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of New York are seeking dedicated full-time educators for the upcoming academic year. We are in search of professionals who are deeply committed to enhancing student performance while embracing the values and traditions of Catholic education.

  • Creating comprehensive weekly lesson plans aligned with the institution's ELA curriculum and educational objectives.
  • Collaborating with fellow educators to design units and lessons, enhancing instructional effectiveness.
  • Upholding the mission of holistic education, addressing the intellectual, physical, and spiritual needs of students.
  • Maintaining open and respectful communication with students' families.
  • Keeping accurate records of students' academic and behavioral progress.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional leadership skills.

Position Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Respect for and appreciation of the Catholic faith and educational principles.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position with an 8-hour workday, Monday through Friday.

Language Proficiency:

  • English (Required)

Certification:

  • Teaching Certification (Preferred)

Compensation:

Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with benefits negotiated by the union representing educators.
