SUMMARY: The Affinity Group Sales Account Manager is tasked with devising and executing a tailored sales approach for their specific category of clients, which encompasses sectors such as Healthcare, Compliance, K-12 Education, Multi-Unit Operations, Hospitality, and Higher Education. This role requires a deep understanding of the key account segment and involves fostering and nurturing strong relationships with Food Service Directors and Chefs at all designated operators. The Sales Account Manager is consistently accessible to clients, maintaining regular communication, engaging in local events, demonstrating products, providing training, and continuously striving to comprehend their product requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements personalized sales strategies in collaboration with the Director of Sales, targeting their segment of key clients.
- Collaborates closely with the entire sales team to discuss market entry strategies, competitive insights, achievements, and obstacles.
- Remains informed and knowledgeable about the operators within their account segment, serving as a resource and solution provider for clients.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of key distributors in the local market to secure support for stocking and selling distributor products.
- Understands critical aspects for strategic accounts, including menu rotations, demographics and trends, desired cost structures, opportunities for product penetration or conversion, product training and education, and various applications for products.
- Keeps an updated profile folder for each client; utilizes the CRM system weekly to document sales call activities, updates, follow-ups, and customer profile management.
- Monitors stock status sheets of participating distributors with assistance from Distributor Account Managers; communicates any positive or negative changes in usage, as well as updates on distribution for strategic accounts.
- Provides sales performance reports and updates to manufacturers as needed.
- Maintains product samples in the assigned office.
- Addresses client quality control concerns and communicates the resolution process.
- Participates in visits to key strategic accounts, preparing an itinerary in advance.
- Possesses the ability to prepare food products and create menu combinations to support the sales process.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED required.
- Some college education preferred.
- Experience in food service brokerage, foodservice operations management, and/or national manufacturer interactions with key regional accounts and/or operators.
- Proven ability to execute and follow through on a sales plan.
- Exhibits a positive, professional, and proactive demeanor.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Leadership and management skills are preferred.
- Adept at building trust and credibility.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities.
- Works effectively in teams and possesses strong motivational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and strategic planning capabilities.
- Familiarity with daily CRM system usage.
- Experience with call reporting in CRM systems.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Supervisory and Reporting Structure:
- This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.
- Reports directly to the Territory Sales Manager.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Candidate must be capable of performing essential job functions.
- Work may take place in an office or warehouse setting.
- Flexible work hours are necessary to meet the demands of the position (including some weekends).
- Travel may be required up to 75% of the time within the designated territory.
