Job Summary

The Precision Control Actuation Systems (PCAS) department at Raytheon Careers is seeking a skilled Servo Controls Engineer to develop and implement algorithms in various electromechanical assemblies. This role requires a solid understanding of classical and modern control theory, experience with Matlab/Simulink, and the ability to work with electrical and mechanical hardware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop algorithms in Matlab/Simulink in conjunction with the Autopilot team
  • Interact with mechanical and electrical design engineers and vendors to optimize hardware capabilities
  • Perform hands-on hardware and software verification testing in the lab
Requirements
  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in hardware and software verification testing
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deriving system of equations for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Classical Control Theory: PID, Nyquist, Bode, Root Locus
  • Modern Control Theory: Full-State Feedback, State Estimation
  • Digital Control
  • Familiarity with electric motors (primarily BLDC type)
  • Software Skills: Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, Python

Clearance Information

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
