About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Precision Control Actuation Systems (PCAS) department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing algorithms in Matlab/Simulink for a variety of electromechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement algorithms in Matlab/Simulink for electromechanical assemblies
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design engineers and vendors to optimize hardware capabilities
  • Perform hands-on hardware and software verification testing in the lab

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deriving system of equations for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Classical Control Theory: PID, Nyquist, Bode, Root Locus
  • Modern Control Theory: Full-State Feedback, State Estimation
  • Digital Control
  • Familiarity with electric motors (primarily BLDC type)
  • Software Skills: Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, Python, dSpace Control Desk

Clearance Information:

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
