Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our Precision Control Actuation Systems department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing algorithms for electromechanical assemblies. Your expertise in classical and modern control theory, as well as experience with Matlab/Simulink, will be essential in optimizing hardware capabilities and ensuring seamless integration with our Autopilot team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement algorithms for electromechanical assemblies using Matlab/Simulink
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design engineers and vendors to optimize hardware capabilities
  • Perform hands-on hardware and software verification testing in the lab
  • Derive system of equations for mechanical and electrical systems
  • Apply classical control theory principles, including PID, Nyquist, Bode, and Root Locus
  • Utilize modern control theory techniques, such as Full-State Feedback and State Estimation
  • Familiarity with electric motors, particularly BLDC type
Requirements
  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship required for security clearance

Clearance Information

This position requires eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
