We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Engineer to join our Energetics and Propulsion Department in Tucson, Arizona. Key Responsibilities- Develop highly advanced technologies and concepts for fuzing devices, controllers, software, mechanical, and electrical interfaces for integration into missile systems and space vehicles.
- Collaborate with program management in long-range program planning and work in a collaborative environment with other technical disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and systems.
- Manage fuzing device development projects and propulsion subcontracts, providing frontline lead activities and mentoring engineers who develop fuzing devices.
- Review manufacturing processes and problem resolution, working directly with subcontractors on the design and manufacturing of fuzing devices.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in fuzing / one shots / engineering technology and/or engineering design.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree.
- Twelve or more years of directly related experience in fuzing devices and their applications.
- Systems knowledge to assure full development of fuzing device requirements and dissemination and flow down to subcomponent levels.
- Ability to perform fuzing trade studies evaluating different electrical designs and estimate design and production cost and schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and systems.
