Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Engineer to join our Energetics and Propulsion Department in Tucson, Arizona. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing advanced technologies and concepts for fuzing devices, controllers, software, mechanical, and electrical interfaces for integration into missile systems and space vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop highly advanced technologies and concepts for fuzing devices, controllers, software, mechanical, and electrical interfaces for integration into missile systems and space vehicles.
  • Collaborate with program management in long-range program planning and work in a collaborative environment with other technical disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and systems.
  • Manage fuzing device development projects and propulsion subcontracts, providing frontline lead activities and mentoring engineers who develop fuzing devices.
  • Review manufacturing processes and problem resolution, working directly with subcontractors on the design and manufacturing of fuzing devices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in fuzing / one shots / engineering technology and/or engineering design.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree.
  • Twelve or more years of directly related experience in fuzing devices and their applications.
  • Systems knowledge to assure full development of fuzing device requirements and dissemination and flow down to subcomponent levels.
  • Ability to perform fuzing trade studies evaluating different electrical designs and estimate design and production cost and schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and systems.
