Mechanical Engineer Senior Principal Controls and Algorithms

About the Role:

Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Servo Controls Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ. As a key member of our Precision Control Actuation Systems (PCAS) department, you will be responsible for developing algorithms in Matlab/Simulink for various electromechanical assemblies. You will work closely with the Autopilot team, mechanical and electrical design engineers, and vendors to optimize hardware capabilities. Your expertise in classical and modern control theory, Matlab/Simulink, and electrical and mechanical hardware will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop algorithms in Matlab/Simulink for electromechanical assemblies
  • Collaborate with the Autopilot team, mechanical and electrical design engineers, and vendors to optimize hardware capabilities
  • Perform hands-on hardware and software verification testing in the lab

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related science degree
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in hardware and software verification testing
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date

Clearance Information:

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
