Position Overview:

As a Community Mortgage Banking Consultant at Wells Fargo, you will play a pivotal role in our Consumer Lending division, specifically within Home Lending. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about helping clients navigate the mortgage process and find the right solutions for their needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with clients at designated bank branches to originate mortgage loans, working closely with branch leadership to enhance the understanding of mortgage products among staff.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to both existing and potential customers regarding mortgage loan offerings, ensuring thorough tracking of all interactions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assessing client needs and presenting tailored mortgage solutions, while keeping them informed about Wells Fargo's Home Mortgage programs.
  • Manage the processing of loan applications, ensuring compliance with established guidelines for rates and terms.
  • Maintain a high level of client satisfaction through timely and effective communication throughout the mortgage process.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development by participating in Wells Fargo training programs to deepen your knowledge of products, policies, and underwriting standards.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements, collaborating with fulfillment teams to meet client needs during the loan origination process.
  • Stay updated on market trends and developments in the mortgage industry to enhance visibility and service offerings for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
  • This position involves customer interaction and may include negotiating terms and taking applications for secured transactions, necessitating compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act and related regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience or equivalent, demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience in retail mortgage sales.
  • In-depth knowledge of lending products and mortgage industry practices.
  • Experience with residential mortgage transactions, particularly those sourced from established networks.
  • Strong connections with realtor organizations and community lending nonprofits.
  • Familiarity with community loan products, including specialized mortgage solutions for low-to-moderate income clients.
  • Experience with FHA/VA and conventional loans is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to generate referrals and educate clients on mortgage options.
  • Strong customer service skills and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to mentor and lead by example.
  • Additional language proficiency in Korean is a plus.

  • Must successfully complete a required language assessment.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Compliance with all Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements is mandatory.
  • SAFE registration is required upon employment commencement.
