Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week.

A full-time, non-merit position is available within the Circuit Court of Baltimore County, offering comprehensive County benefits.

Role Overview:
This position plays a crucial role in the execution of the Differentiated Case Management (DCM) plans for civil and domestic cases. Responsibilities include assigning cases to suitable tracks under the DCM framework and facilitating early Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) procedures. The incumbent will report to both the Family Case Manager and the Civil Case Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign cases to appropriate tracks; prepare Scheduling Orders and Family Services Orders.
  • Review case information reports and histories to screen cases for scheduling conferences; schedule cases for various court events.
  • Assist judges and magistrates in conducting scheduling conferences, both virtually and in-person.
  • Coordinate with the Civil Assignment Department to maintain judges' and magistrates' calendars.
  • Respond to inquiries from attorneys and the public; assist self-represented parties with procedural matters.
  • Process payments for family services.
  • Maintain and analyze data; provide coverage for the Settlement Court and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, along with one year of experience in a court, law office, or ADR-related field. Preference will be given to candidates with three or more years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of court procedures and civil case processing.
  • Effective planning and communication skills with attorneys, judges, and the public.
  • Familiarity with automated case management systems, preferably the Odyssey Case Management System.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently while managing time efficiently.
