About the Role

Curtiss-Wright EMD is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Cheswick, PA. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing electro-mechanical components and systems for our critical function pumps, motors, generators, and other equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Analysis: Design and analyze electro-mechanical components and systems, including rotating equipment and machine designs. Develop drawings and specifications for new and modified designs.
  • Manufacturing and Testing Support: Support manufacturing and testing of electro-mechanical equipment, including documentation, reporting, and publishing.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical support to failure investigations and bid responses. Determine technical objectives and develop innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness. Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering activities, including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advance degree a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-10 years work experience dealing with manufacture and design of engineered products. Experience with rotating equipment and machine designs (motors, pumps, generators and propulsors).
  • Skills: GD&T, CAD systems, CAE systems, FEA methods. Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews. Capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities. Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Certifications: Must be a sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
