About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Curtiss-Wright in Cheswick, PA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing electro-mechanical components and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electro-mechanical components and systems
  • Conduct studies and testing on new and modified designs
  • Develop design information for use in drawings and specifications
  • Provide engineering design, maintenance support, and training for new product and equipment
  • Assess new and existing equipment to optimize design efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness
  • Design and conduct experiments, collect data, and interpret results
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering activities, including documentation, reporting, and presentations
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum 2-10 years of work experience in manufacture and design of engineered products
  • Experience with rotating equipment and machine designs (motors, pumps, generators, and propulsors)
  • Knowledge of GD&T, CAD systems, CAE systems, FEA methods
  • Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
