About the Role

Curtiss-Wright EMD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Cheswick, PA. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing complex electro-mechanical components and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Analysis: Provide engineering design and analysis to assess new and existing equipment to optimize efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Experimentation and Testing: Design and conduct experiments, collect data, and interpret results, conduct analysis, and write analysis and test reports.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Plan and coordinate the design and analysis of complex engineering solutions, including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations.
  • Equipment Design and Development: Design new equipment and machinery to support program and project needs, and assist in building, installing, debugging, and testing new equipment.
  • Technical Leadership: Determine technical objectives and develop innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems, and provide technical support to failure investigations and bid responses.
  • Team Leadership: Lead technical teams in design and analytical activities for product design and development and production, and mentor less experienced engineers.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
  • Experience: 10 years work experience dealing with manufacture and design of engineered products, with experience with rotating equipment and machine designs.
  • Skills: Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, GD&T, CAD systems, CAE systems, and ability to perform analysis and studies with strong attention to details in a fast-paced environment.
  • Citizenship: Must be a sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
