Position Overview

The State of Vermont is seeking a dedicated HR Operations Specialist to enhance our team supporting various state agencies. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to interact with employees at all levels. Responsibilities will encompass a range of administrative tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, position oversight, records management, and processing medical leave requests. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, is essential.

Exceptional organizational abilities are crucial for managing a high volume of tasks efficiently. Successful candidates will demonstrate their capacity to assess, interpret, and offer guidance on HR policies and procedures. The ability to work autonomously, produce accurate and timely results, and a willingness to learn are vital for success in this role.

This position supports a hybrid work environment, requiring some in-person attendance.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of two years in an administrative capacity, including customer service and experience with spreadsheets, databases, and email communication, is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in human resources or payroll is advantageous.
Background in public sector employment is also preferred.
