Position Overview

The Administrative Coordinator II role within the Retirement Division is crucial for delivering exceptional customer service. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, including patience, empathy, and the ability to manage conflicts effectively. This position demands proficiency in multitasking across various computer systems to provide accurate and professional information while meticulously documenting cases.

Responsibilities

This role serves as the primary point of contact for members of the Vermont State Retirement Systems, facilitating communication through phone, email, and in-person interactions. The Administrative Coordinator II will also guide fellow retirement staff on necessary adjustments for individual cases and handle various incoming and outgoing documentation.

This position, Administrative Services Coordinator II, is open to all current State employees and external candidates.

The role is conducted in a standard office environment.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a High School diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in providing administrative support within a business or organization.

Alternatively, candidates may qualify with:

  • One year of full-time college study in fields such as accounting, business or public administration, or office administration, combined with two (2) years of relevant administrative support experience.
  • Two years of full-time college study or an associate's degree in a related field, alongside one (1) year of administrative support experience.
  • Three years of full-time college study or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Services Coordinator I with the State of Vermont.

Note: Only administrative experience is considered qualifying. Administrative support encompasses functions that ensure organizational operations and resource provision for programmatic work, including areas such as accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management.

Special Requirements

Some positions may require experience with the VISION system, the State of Vermont's PeopleSoft financial management system.
