Urgent Hiring: Seeking Qualified Maintenance Personnel
Position Overview
We are in search of a proficient and reliable maintenance technician who exemplifies safety, commitment, and thoroughness. QSAC is eager to find a seasoned maintenance professional with hands-on expertise in essential maintenance trades, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, general woodworking, various repairs, wall installation, painting, and minor internal construction tasks.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this role ranges from $19.00 to $21.00.
Location and Travel Requirements
The maintenance office is situated in Jamaica, Queens, with travel to various locations as necessary. A vehicle will be provided for commuting to and from programs; however, a personal vehicle is required to arrive at the work site or for emergency travel.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Duties
- Execute projects encompassing plumbing, carpentry, furniture relocation, deliveries, construction, painting, and general repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Complete work orders effectively on the first attempt, adhering to logical sequences such as patching before painting and laying carpet.
- Ensure cleanliness throughout facilities by performing assigned cleaning tasks.
- Review work orders prior to heading to the work site to confirm that all necessary materials and tools are available.
- Exhibit safety and care in handling equipment and supplies to prevent damage and theft.
- May be tasked with general cleaning and custodial responsibilities.
- May be required to assist with snow removal as needed.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Prioritize tasks to address time-sensitive issues first.
- Utilize troubleshooting skills to identify optimal solutions for problems and communicate any delays or emergency reassignments to the supervisor.
- Identify and report facility issues to the supervisor promptly upon discovery.
- May be expected to work independently in the field while maintaining focus on assigned tasks and priorities.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift items and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs is essential.
- The position necessitates standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
Experience and Qualifications
- Vaccination is required.
- A high school diploma or GED is necessary.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of general maintenance experience in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, general woodworking, various repairs, wall installation, painting, and minor internal construction is required.
- A valid driver’s license with an excellent driving history is essential.
- The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with others is required.
