Job Overview

The AV Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role within the AV Operations division. This position is essential for ensuring that Beep's fleet of Autonomous Vehicles operates efficiently, enhancing service reliability and safety for our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance as per vendor guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Beep Command Center to troubleshoot and rectify issues within the fleet.
  • Assist in maintenance tasks for L1 to L5 autonomous vehicles.
  • Document maintenance protocols and create service manuals.
  • Engage in Beep's change management and incident management processes for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Guarantee uniform application of inspection and maintenance standards across all service regions.
  • Work closely with manufacturers to acquire and manage spare parts and inventory.
  • Oversee aftermarket modifications to the autonomous vehicle fleet.
  • Effectively prioritize and organize tasks across various projects.
  • Maintain vendor maintenance certifications (training will be provided).

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in using proprietary software for diagnosing and calibrating vehicle components.
  • Adept at identifying issues and proposing enhancements to current processes.
  • Capable of interpreting mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Works well in a collaborative team setting with shared objectives.
  • Exhibits a strong commitment to safety.
  • Self-motivated, excellent problem solver, adaptable, resourceful, and maintains high ethical standards.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and capable of working independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passionate about emerging technologies and mobility solutions.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in the automotive or aviation sector, with a focus on fleet maintenance; experience with autonomous fleets is preferred.
  • ASE certifications (A Series, H Series, and L3 preferred).
  • Extensive experience with electrical systems.
  • Must pass a background check and federal drug screening.
  • Must possess a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, or kneel for extended periods, primarily in an outdoor setting.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
