About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Representative to join our team at FirstEnergy. As a key member of our Corporate Human Resources department, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing competitive compensation programs that drive business results.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee compensation, finance, and analytical experience. You will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and administration of non-bargaining compensation programs, policies, and guidelines. This includes analyzing compensation surveys to determine trends and ensuring competitive positions in the external market and internal equity across the organization.

You will also consult with business unit leaders on compensation practices and processes, provide project management and analytical support in key compensation special projects, and drive educational and communication efforts throughout the organization related to compensation programs and practices.

Additionally, you will compile reports and statistics for FirstEnergy's various compensation programs and initiatives, understand and apply regulatory requirements related to compensation, and remain knowledgeable of compensation trends and recommend process improvements.

As a thought leader in the group, you will serve as a mentor and coach to less tenured employees and recommend and implement solutions to more complex compensation issues to drive positive change across the organization.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline preferred with minimum 4 years relevant work experience required.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, minimum 7 years relevant work experience required.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) required.
  • Oracle experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze large quantities of data and manage and prioritize multiple work assignments while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to develop creative solutions to solve problems and provide guidance to leadership in nonstandard situations.
  • Strong communication skills required.
