Job Title: Registered Nurse II

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute. As a Registered Nurse II, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our facility.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse II will be responsible for providing advanced nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to address physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Conduct patient education and counseling to promote healthy behaviors and disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Current and active Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric or healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
