Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute. As a Registered Nurse II, you will provide advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as nursing standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders
  • Implement the use of Seclusion/Restraints safely and effectively
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the healthcare team
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in psychiatric nursing
Requirements
  • Current and in good standing Registered Nurse license to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or license eligible
  • Experience working as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a psychiatric or healthcare setting
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric and physical disorders, and cultural needs of the individual psychiatric patient
