Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse II to join our team at the Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute. As a Registered Nurse II, you will provide advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders, utilizing your knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric and physical disorders, and cultural needs of the individual. Your expertise will be essential in implementing the use of Seclusion/Restraints, ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders
  • Implement the use of Seclusion/Restraints, ensuring patient safety and well-being
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and develop effective care strategies
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
Requirements:
  • Current and in good standing Registered Nurse license to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or license eligible
  • Multi-state compact endorsement accepted
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Experience working as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric, healthcare facility, acute care, long-term, or correctional setting
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
