Job Title: Senior Area Transmission Planner

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Senior Area Transmission Planner to join our team. As a key member of our Power Delivery department, you will play a critical role in planning and implementing transmission projects to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our transmission system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement transmission planning strategies to meet customer needs and ensure compliance with NERC/WECC reliability standards.
  • Conduct complex engineering studies and analyses to identify transmission system needs and optimize system performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of transmission planners and engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with neighboring utilities and industry stakeholders to develop and implement transmission planning standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed records of transmission planning activities and results.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transmission planning and engineering, with a strong background in power system analysis and modeling.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in the use of power flow and dynamic analysis software, including Siemens PSS/e and GE PSLF.
  • Knowledge of NERC and WECC reliability standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with power system analysis and modeling software, including PowerWorld and PI.
