POSITION OVERVIEW


The role involves managing and coordinating all activities related to the Materials division, which includes responsibilities such as receiving, shipping, shop floor management, planning, and overseeing all Point of Use locations.

The Materials Operations Leader is expected to improve both the performance of the department and their own capabilities through continuous training and development initiatives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Foster ongoing enhancement in the supply chain to align with business goals by supervising the materials team and engaging in daily toolbox discussions.

Oversee staff scheduling and equip the team with necessary tools for daily operations.

Assist in formulating, communicating, and implementing departmental policies, guidelines, and tools to ensure successful processes.

Manage the budget for the Materials department, which includes indirect labor, overtime, material supplies, communication devices, and travel costs.

Track and achieve all material performance metrics.

Oversee critical areas such as communication with other facilities regarding shipping needs and minimizing obsolete inventory.

Contribute to the reduction of inventory discrepancies by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Address challenges related to uncontrollable items, cross-training, maintaining sub-inventories, and inter-departmental communication while adhering to proper email etiquette.

Ensure adherence to ISO standards, work instructions, and 5Ps, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the department.

Manage safety-related responsibilities, including conducting accident/incident investigations, promoting daily safety practices, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Oversee the condition of all seasonal equipment and schedule maintenance as needed.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.

Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems; PICS certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Formal education in supervision is advantageous.

Strong analytical, organizational, numerical, and communication skills.

Able to lead a team effectively, providing clear direction, goals, and expectations.
