Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the company's safety protocols and actively participate in safety initiatives.
  • Support and embody the core values and mission of Upstone Materials.
  • Assist in maintaining high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project teams to outline project processes, including bidding and contract development.
  • Monitor safety, budget, and timelines for construction projects alongside project teams.
  • Help coordinate material procurement and logistics to optimize resource use.
  • Engage in activities that foster customer relationship development.
  • Operate heavy machinery as required.
  • Perform various manual and skilled labor tasks.
  • Complete additional projects as assigned during the internship.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in construction or internships is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with software related to construction take-offs and bidding is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as needed, which may include overnight stays.
  • Ability to wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as per safety guidelines.
  • Regularly required to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent communication and interaction with team members.
  • Capability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
