Key Responsibilities- Problem Resolution: Investigate and analyze quality issues, providing solutions to customer, supplier, and internal warranty concerns.
- Preventive Measures: Act as a leader in implementing countermeasures to avoid recurrence of quality issues.
- Relationship Management: Foster strong, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.
- Corrective Actions: Ensure that timely containment and corrective actions are executed for all quality problems.
- Quality Improvement: Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing supplier and internal quality processes to minimize nonconformance and associated costs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, and Maintenance departments to manage customer Product Change Requests (PCR) and Engineering Change Instructions (ECI).
- New Model Quality Assurance: Support the establishment of quality requirements for new models, including supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and internal quality checks.
- Quality Culture: Promote a "Zero Defect" mindset across suppliers and internal teams.
- Travel may be necessary to evaluate supplier performance or address customer quality issues.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Adept at interpreting technical drawings.
- Highly skilled in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Knowledge of standard quality tools such as 8D, DMAIC, and various Root Cause Analysis techniques.
- Ability to comprehend Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) layouts.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the manufacturing environment.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related role.
- Oversee the direction of quality-related issues.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Work in a typical office setting as well as various factory environments.
