LPN Job Opportunity in Staunton, VA

American Medical Staffing (AMS) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Staunton, VA. This is a unique opportunity to work in a state psychiatric hospital with a mix of forensic psychiatric and developmentally disabled patients.

Job Details:
  • Pay Rate: $1,702 - $1,902 per week
  • Schedule: 7 – 7, Every other weekend, Holidays as needed
  • Available Shift: 2 12's and 2 8's (Shift Times: 7a-3:30p & 7a-7:30p / 3p-11:30p & 11a-11:30p), 4 shifts per week
Responsibilities:
  1. Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of RNs or physicians.
  2. Monitoring patients' vitals and symptoms—administering medication and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
  3. Administer medications and injections as prescribed by a physician and monitor for adverse reactions to medications.
  4. Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate interventions as needed.
  5. Documenting all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and timely.
  6. Educating patients on self-care techniques and promoting health education within the correctional facility.
Requirements:
  • Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a corrections/state psychiatric or similar setting.
  • Valid LPN license and willingness to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.
