We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Western State Hospital. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide quality nursing care to psychiatric and geriatric patients based on standards of nursing practice and care within the scope of your license.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for administering medication and treatments, maintaining patient records, promoting health and wellness education, and communicating for continuity of patient care. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Provide health and wellness education to patients and their families
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
Requirements:
  • LPN licensure or eligibility in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Current, Virginia license to practice as a LPN or license eligible
  • Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities, including medication administration
  • Ability to implement nursing care plans and provide guidance to other staff
  • Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff
