Job Summary

Oversee the development of a comprehensive fundraising plan to achieve new and recurring contributions to the University of Pittsburgh.

Manage a portfolio of major gift donors and strategically build fundraising prospects to support the University's mission in education, research, and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and implement fundraising strategies to qualify, cultivate, and solicit prospects for individual major gifts.
  • Work closely with the Dean and faculty to develop compelling cases for support and implement fundraising strategies for the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and the College of General Studies.
  • Partner with the Dean to manage the school's Board of Visitors and develop alumni relations and fundraising efforts.
  • Manage the school's director of development, major gift officer(s), and other direct reports to help them achieve their individual and collective goals.
  • Travel regularly and work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of success in closing six and seven-figure major gifts.
  • Exhibit strong initiative and leadership qualities.
  • Possess superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to persuade effectively.
  • Showcase strong organizational and management skills.
  • Communicate exceptionally well with a variety of University alumni, donors, faculty, staff, senior leadership, and friends.
  • Have knowledge of and experience working in the higher education environment.
  • Translate the University's mission in ways that engage and inspire donors and alumni.
